May 2011 - Roy Conway, Technical Manager at WEB Processing, has been awarded an engraved hand cut crystal brandy glass, along with a supply of appropriate contents, to commemorate 25 years service with the company.

May 2011 - Francis Woodruff, Chairman of WEB Processing, gave a lecture to a well attended audience at the 11th Annual Conference of Composites UK held at the Manchester Conference Centre in  Manchester, England.

April 2011 - An order has been received from the UK factory of a major international manufacturer for application and drying facility improvements to their existing production equipment to give improved product quality as well as increasing manufacturing capacity.

February 2009 - A new range of Contemporary flocked fabrics has arrived.

January 2009 - a strategic alliance has been set up between WEB Processing and Thom Engineering Ltd of Blackburn, UK to be able to offer a complete package for the manufacture of artificial grass.  This would include the tufting machinery to make the base material, and coating equipment to apply a hot melt  to tuft lock the product. Samples from initial trials were shown at the Domotex Exhibition in Hanover, where there was a very positive response from the industry.

December 2008 - Chairman Francis Woodruff and Managing Director Barry Goodwin both gave their thanks and appreciation for over 30 years service to Joan Slate when she retired from the company on 10 December. Joan had been working on a part time basis for the past 18 months after her official retirement in August 2007.

September 2008 - He may not be as famous as Stella McCartney or Alexander McQueen, but his talent is up there with the industry’s best - that was the verdict on Francis Woodruff, who received a top industry award today as one of the fashion and textile sector’s hidden heroes.  Francis, who is the Chairman at Whaley Bridge textile machine manufacturer WEB Processing, is one of only 50 people across the whole of the UK to receive a “Behind the Seams” award from Skillfast-UK, the Sector Skills Council for fashion and textiles.
Francis was nominated for the award by the company’s Managing Director, Barry Goodwin. Barry praised Francis’ role as he established the business in the late sixties and still at the age of 71 is working through his retirement, showing his dedication and passion for the textiles industry.
Both Barry and Francis will now be invited to an event in London in November, celebrating all the Behind the Seams award winners. Francis’ name will also appear in a skills roll of honour, which will be presented to Skills Minister David Lammy.

are delighted to congratulate one of their clients “The Surface Print Company” for recently winning a prestigious award presented by the HDRA (Home Decoration Retailers Association)
The award for best innovation in 2008 is for a machine designated the Floxo machine which was commissioned by the Surface Print Company in the early part of this year. Managing Director Mr John Mark Watson stated “With our new machine we will be able to create some terrific effects for up market companies”
The order for the flocking part of this new installation was placed with WEB Processing at the start of 2007, the first flocking machine to be supplied by WEB to the Surface Print Company was in 2004.
WEB Processing supplies a range of products for flocked wallpaper, flooring, curtaining, soft furnishing and fashion accessories.

August 2008 - In house trials have been carried out for the tuft locking of carpets using recyclable thermoplastic materials.  The technique, utilising hot knife blade coating, has given very encouraging results with excellent tuft locking and laminating. The technique uses a small footprint machine with very significantly less power consumption than the standard current production process using non recyclable latex materials. Trials on customers own carpet products can be carried out in our pilot facility and can be arranged by contacting us on carpets@webprocessing.co.uk.

June 2008 - A drum melter has been sold for an exciting new application within the composites industry.

June 2008 - TPU film sales, thermoplastic polyurethane, are now making a significant contribution within the company. WEB Processing are added as one of Novotex’s preferred machine suppliers on their website.

March 2008 - WEB Processing appoint a new European Sales Manager for the Technical Fabrics Division, Mr Nick Wolfenden, who offers over 25 years experience in the production and marketing of fabrics.

March 2008 - after  exhaustive trials with a multitude of clients from ITMA2007 in Munich, the machine on display has now been fully installed and commissioned at an established and well respected contract laminator in North America.  After 2 days from the start of the installation, good, saleable laminated products were manufactured

March 2008 - WEB Processing are pleased to announce our new Electrical Department on site here in Whaley Bridge. We can now offer a full range of electrical repair, modification, installation and commissioning, not just for the textile industry bit for anyone who has a requirement.

February 2008 - Final machine assessment and operational check along with assessment of operator training on the complete coating and flocking machine in South India. Presently producing 125,000 metres per month working 12 hour shifts at an efficiency in excess of 95%, expected to raise to >98% in the near future. A second shift is expected to start before the end of March.

February 2008 - Order received for retrofit into machine of an existing client in Turkey, originally supplied by WEB Processing in 2002. Also a range of laboratory test equipment.

January 2008 - Delivery of 2.5 metre wide blade in air and blade over roll coating head to UK company based in the North.

December 2007 - Completion of the installation of a double headed flocking plant for the manufacture of wallcoverings for a major UK supplier following the recent increase in demand for the products.

December 2007 - Technical Manager Roy Conway has given two lectures on hot melt machinery and general coating and laminating at a meeting of the European Consortium on Hot Melt technology in Gent, Belgium.

December 2007 - Appointment as UK outlet for Novotex products, which include TPU and a wide variety of films used in laminated products.

November 2007 - Successful relocation of a complete coating machine for the manufacture of filter fabrics.

October 2007 - A partnership has been set up with GRiNP, an Italian manufacturer of atmospheric Plasma treatments units which will be incorporated into the WEB Processing range of hot melt lamination machines to enhance adhesion on particular materials, dependant upon the specific client requirements.

September 2007 - The recent ITMA 2007 exhibition in Munich resulted in over 500 visitors to our stand, where we exhibited our new Quattro PUR laminator. Well attended by what we consider senior quality visitors, it has resulted in the need to generate over 250 formal quotations, some of which we hope to convert into sales throughout 2007- 2008.  We would like to thank all agents and visitors to our stand, making this our most successful ITMA to date.

September 2007 - WEB Processing are delighted to announce that Amanda Goodwin has joined the company to assist with administrative and office duties. Amanda has 20 years experience in this field and is a welcomed addition to the WEB Processing team.

August 2007 - After almost 30 years service with WEB Processing, Joan Slate has retired as Office Manager. Although retiring from full time employment, Joan will be having a short holiday before returning to the fold on a part time basis.

August 2007 - Successful modifications carried out to flocking line of existing client has enabled his production speed to be doubled.

August 2007 - Installation of a new live coating blade assembly has proved to allow client to reach low coat weights with increased uniformity of coating profile for a prestigious prepreg supplier in UK

July 2007 - Sale confirmed for the supply of a 4 brush flocking system, including beating and brushing units along with 2 independent high capacity extraction systems for a prestigious wallcoverings manufacturer in UK.  This system will complement the current flocking facilities and allow for an increase in production capacity.

July 2007 - Successfully completed the installation and commissioning of a purpose built hot melt/combined PUR laminator in Belgium with a roll face of 2.8 metres. The unit was in operation 2 days after arrival at the factory. This has given the commission laminating specialist an additional technique to complement his existing production facility.

June 2007 - Sale of refurbished blade over roller blade in air coating head to UK client for the production of filter fabrics.

June 2007 -We are delighted to announce that our new design of flocking machine has been successfully installed in the South of India and wet commissioned without any problems, Web Processing and the client are delighted. The location is Coimbatore and the client is Bannari Amman (Textile Division).  This line is a state of the art flocking installation which has been specifically designed for a range of flocked products, the initial production runs yielded first quality and saleable goods immediately. The flock density and process speed are better than anything seen in the market place today.  The machine incorporates our new design of air patterning machine which produces beautiful air pattern designs in full or pattern flocked fabrics, the detail is incredible. There is little noise generated when compared to competitors systems, we are more than satisfied with this new machine  Bannari have several new flock designs they intend to produce, And we will exhibit many examples at the ITMA show in Munich later this year.  We are currently developing a new flocking system which may revolutionise the flock Industry look out for “WFT Flocking in the not too distant future”

May 2007 - WEB Processing announce that they will be exhibiting their latest Hot Melt Lamination machine at ITMA 2007 in Munich. The machine - model WZ Quattro - is the latest state of the art version utilising a 4 roll configuration giving many advantages over previous models.

March 2007 - First wave of installation completed successfully for our new velour line located in the South of India.
A team of technicians will return at the end of this month for wet commissioning.

March 2007 - Second flocked wallpaper machine ordered for installation in June 2007.  Order for a four head version is now imminent for installation soon after.

February 2007 - Completed installation and commissioning of a state of the art blade over roll and blade in air coating facility in United Kingdom for a new revolutionary product for the healthcare market. The installation includes both coating and lamination facilities to allow the new product to be manufactured in a one pass process.

December 2006 - The new design of air patterning unit is used to create a plethora of patterns in velour flocked fabrics. Trials and testing have proved very successful and we shall be offering it for general sale as a retrofit to existing lines, or as part of full flock lines in the New Year.

December 2006 - Major refurbishment of a bespoke calender undertaken for a Blue Chip company.

November 2006 - contract secured to help relocate a household name in the Healthcare sector to a new manufacturing facility in India, an existing powder line, supplied by WEB 8 years ago for the production of wound dressings, is being prepared for this relocation.

November 2006 - Unique slitting assembly fitted to a clients existing PVC coating line. This investment has dramatically improved the current process and reduced scrap and the dust generated when using conventional crush cut selvedge trimmers.

October 2006 - Contract secured for the supply of a unique, multifunctional coating, impregnation and lamination facility.  This is to be supplied to Noveon UK Ltd, one of the leading suppliers of chemicals to the textile industry worldwide.  Based in Barnsley in the north of England, this facility will allow Noveon to simulate many different processes within the textile and associated industries, as well as to help in their continued Research and Development of new materials.

A WEB Processing machine was featured on the BBC programme ‘Homes’ screened on 29th August 2006 and hosted by world acclaimed interior designer Nina Campbell. Nina demonstrated what was required in order to take one of her conceptual designs of wallpaper through to the finished article. The programme described the flocking process in some detail for which our unique machine was shown producing flocked wallpaper of the highest possible quality.

March 2006 - Installation of PUR stand alone machine into Malaysia - the first machine of this type in Malaysia - client has already secured approval and sales for major automotive and lingerie manufacturers in Malaysia and Europe and is steadily filling to capacity.
